Muslim World League is driving efforts to implement a Harmonized Halal Mark on a global platform.

Founded in 1962, The Muslim World League is an international non-governmental Islamic organization based in the Holy City of Makkah Al Mukarramah. It aims to present the true Islam and its tolerant principles, provide humanitarian aid, extend bridges of dialogue and cooperation with all, engage in positive openness to all cultures and civilizations and follow the path of centrism and moderation to realize the message of Islam.

The MWL contributes actively to United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and maintains consultative status with UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund), and the United Nations Economic and Social
Council (ECOSOC).

The Halal Arm of MWL

The Halal arm of Muslim World League was established in 2018 with its innovative scheme to validate the standardization and notification of products imported into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Through training, supervision, inspection, audit and certification, Muslim World League ensures compliance to Halal principles and practices across a wide array of sectors in consumables, non-consumables & service sectors, namely, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, animal & poultry feed, banking, hospitality, tourism, healthcare and supply chain.


How MWL is making it possible?

The MWL has established Halal Notification Centers in the 6 continents with the collaboration of Halal certification bodies, manufacturers, governmental institutions and customers.

The recent and rapid growth in global Halal industry worldwide, triggered the launch of a comprehensive and systematic global effort. With this development, the Muslim World League collaborated with its partners and stakeholders that are a part of the global Halal supply chain to work towards the implementation of a “Harmonized Halal Mark”.

To ensure that the interests of all genuine Halal companies are safeguarded through a Harmonized Halal Mark, Muslim World League aims to strengthen the role of Halal Certification Bodies in the global economy with special emphasis on e-commerce and blockchain digital channels.

Our Halal Notification platform serves as an online registration platform for suppliers and buyers to promote transparency, ease of trade and economic growth, all while assuring global sustainability.

  1. To strengthen, empower and drive the Halal compliance throughout the product lifecycle till the consumer market surveillance and emerge as a global leader in Halal Notification.
  2. Support the growth of Halal certification bodies to validate strict Halal compliance, locally and internationally, and to create awareness of the importance of Halal certification as a fundamental pillar of the global economy.
  3. Spread awareness and share the expertise to facilitate the smooth implementation of Halal notification scheme globally, together with other health organizations and safety certification bodies.
  4. Strengthening of the bilateral relations between the Muslim world and other participating countries and communities. This would be made possible through contributing in scientific researches, innovation schemes and high-impact projects that would shape the future of global Halal industry.
  5. Promotion of Halal products and services from the registered exporters and manufacturers by conforming to the best available accreditation on food safety and traceability, and through the continuous support of international Halal accreditation bodies.
  6. To establish the most practicable and robust Halal assurance system which can facilitate the traceability of Halal food being served to the Muslim community.
  7. To work closely with government authorities and other relevant organizations to promote Halal development domestically.
